Do You Call THAT !

A Snowstorm !!!

HAHAHAHA !

*

(I went to school with a Great Friend from deep-warm-coastal MS. I'm from northern NJ.

Well we're down South attending school & he calls me up at like 5am & says, "Hey look outside ! There's a snowstorm outside ! Holy Jesus."

So I look outside & it looks slightly less than the dusting on your fine stone patio. And I say laughingly, "Where you from boy ?!?" So then he says, "I'm gonna drive over & pick you up, so we drive through this storm."

So then we drive around for a while, while like 3 large snowflakes hit the windshield & immediately melt & he's completely astonished & keeps saying to me, "Did you that ! That's snow.")

I still love that guy.

No not wimps, just unaccustomed to snow ! That's all. It was fun to watch my friend's revelry.

What is ‘the OC?’

Orange County, CA (sorry)

Thank you. I used to live in Orange, County, CA (Cypress). Before that, Long Beach. Now it’s west-Central Wisconsin Just finished shoveling, snow blowing, and plowing about a foot of snow. Not trying to one-up you...that *is* atypical weather for Orange County, CA. Looks like you’re somewhere in the hills. Your back yard is beautiful. Glad to see greenness, rather than brownness, out there.

Since I couldn't figure out how to include a photo, I thought I would memorialize a haiku.

Thanks for sharing, Kitten! I lived in Brentwood/Santa Monica for 5-6 yrs & my big sister lived in OC back in the 70's (Newport & Laguna when they were true beach communities), and we never saw snow, unless you drove up into Big Bear at the right time, or farther north. True, people not used to snow go crazy - I lived months in DC & a light dusting panicked people there! 😸

We got icy stuff here in Michigan too. Our backyard chickens show their disapproval by refusing to go outside and coo at the sun today.

awe, your lucky to have chickens💝

praying everyone on the road is ok…we’re not so used to this… the freeways must be an icy mess🙏

And yes, very happy to have chickens, though they are a lot of work.

Grandkiddo's school has been closed because of ice for two days now. Many power outages around the state, and the salt trucks often don't get out here for a couple of days. It will melt off, probably, before tomorrow.
