I read part of the post on top of the feed. In it is something I have been wondering about since the early days of the panic; from where does a doctor’s authority to assign a Do Not Resuscitate (DNR) order originate? As I understood before the panic, DNR can only come from the patient, usually in the form of a living will or similar. Exceptions exist, of course, such as in a mass casualty event or regional natural disaster, but otherwise, how can a doctor just decide not to resuscitate a patient?
